Hello, I'm Anne and I'm excited to have been accepted as a 'living with' reviewer. My husband is a headteacher and I spend my time looking after our three children J is 6, M is 3 and little A is 4 months old. When we're not tearing up and down the road trying to be on time for our big boy at school, the girls and I like to play and socialise. We also make feeble attempts to get a few jobs done from time to time! We help run a toddler group at our church where I also lead a bible study group. Oh, and I've recently started running to try and shed the weight left behind by little A!

First Impressions

Ok, first time with the SnoozeShade, nice and small when folded and handily enough came with its own storage pouch - all good! The fabric is lovely and soft, nice to know it's not going to scratch little A, and as I held it up it was obvious how to fit it onto the car seat - always a bonus.
I fastened it on and stretched it round the edge of the car seat, recognising the "sneak a peep" zip and the open front access. Two options on the front panel - blackout plus mosquito net for dark sleeping or stow the blackout away to let in light but keep the flies off A.
Looking forward to giving it a go...

Used the snooze shade a few times now, up here in Blackburn we don't get very much sun, but we're getting some of the lovely Indian summer weather so I've been glad of a way to keep it dark for little A. Apart from keeping things dark of course, here are some things I really like about snooze shade - lovely soft fabric, nice and gentle on baby skin, easy to attach as I'm getting the car seat out of the car, the sneak a peek zip that doesn't let much light in, the protection from the breeze (esp her face) that also sometimes wakes A. Sure I'll find more...

So, last week I was thinking about the things I really like about my SnoozeShade and for balance here are my least favourite features: 'Velcro' is my biggest worry, it seems to create a sound little A reacts violently to, so adjusting the Velcro straps is a recipe for a woken child. Also when it's not on the car seat it sticks to the fabric and creates plucks in the silver outside. This leads me neatly onto 'you can't leave it on'. I'm lazy and would like to do things once forever, but unfortunately this shade had to jump on and off because I can't strap the car seat in safely with it on. I have to remember to do this while it's still in the car though, once the car seat is on the wheels it's really hard to get on. Finally 'toys', just a clash of design but we have an activity bar on the car seat that fights for position with the snooze shade, I guess I should take it off when she's asleep, but that would involve undoing Velcro (see above)!
