The Project B Pregnancy Subscription Box is a monthly box packed with treats, goodies and advice for the expectant mother delivered direct to their door. Here we give it a thorough testing for our review.
Project B is a subscription box gift service for pregnant women. Set up as the third ‘baby’ by mother of two Amber, Project B is dedicated to providing mums with quality monthly treats delivered to their door to ease them along their pregnancy journey. Amber has worked in the nursery industry for a considerable amount of time so knows how to spot good quality products a mile away!
You can sign up online to receive a Project B box at any stage of your pregnancy after month 3, and you will receive one box each month for the remainder of your pregnancy, plus one ‘month 10’ box to help welcome your new arrival and complete the project. Payments can be made by monthly direct debit or in a lump sum, and the box is as easily bought for you as it is a gift for someone else. Each month’s box is tailored to suit your stage of pregnancy and is packed with things you might like to try or use to help you at a particular stage of your pregnancy plus advice to help you along the way. You can see the common example contents of each box online before you commit.
What’s in the Box?
I received the box for month 7, as I am between 25 – 29 weeks pregnant on the 1st of this calendar month (the date at which all boxes are dispatched).
My box contained:
• St Eval Candle Company Tranquillity Scented tin.
• Natal Hypnotherapy Pregnancy Relaxation CD.
• Balm Balm Rose Geranium Face Balm (30ml)
• Eisberg Alcohol Free Wine
• Urban Veda Purifying Exfoliating Facial Polish (20ml)
• Urban Veda Daily Purifying Facial Wash (20ml)
• 2 x Divine Chocolate bars (40g)
• 3 x TeaPig teabags – different flavours – all pregnancy friendly.
My box also included smart flash cards with information on “Your Pregnancy”, “Eating Well”, “Staying Active” and “Shopping Ideas”. This month’s box contents are worth £29 in total.
Each month the box is different but each month you know that you are going to receive more than the amount you paid for your subscription.
Price
The monthly subscription cost of the Project B Pregnancy box is £14. There is no additional delivery costs and all the boxes range in value between £17 and £31.
Project B Box Conclusion
I have always been a little sceptical of these subscription type services, thinking perhaps it is a way for a company to charge me for a load of free samples or 'tat', take my details and sell them to the companies involved. I am pleased to say that this is certainly NOT the case with Project B.
The Project B box is good quality, beautifully presented and contains a lovely range of lovely things, with no advertising or anything that strikes you as a ‘freebie’. You can even easily opt out of having your details passed on to the companies involved. Best of all – it’s considerably cheaper than some other pregnancy subscription boxes on the market and considerably better quality.
Without a doubt the Project B box would make a really great pregnancy gift for someone, and initially I thought the product would be best suited for first time mums, but I think that’s not the end of its scope. I’m on my third pregnancy now and if I’m honest it’s a bit...dull; the novelty has worn off a little compared to the first time. This time round it’s all about survival (with a two year old and three year old in tow, I don’t get a moment to relax). Pampering time is down to nil, and this has made receiving this box even more special.
The Project B box is full of lovely treats that I just wouldn’t treat myself to normally, it’s something to look forward to, it reminds me of how lovely and special every pregnancy is, and because the box contents have been well thought out and are clearly good quality – receiving this box really made my week...if not my month!
We give Project B 4.5 out of 5 stars
