The Baby Show plays host to all the well-known and well-loved baby brands, as well as heaps of fresh new things. This week we’re going to be sharing some of our favourites with you.
Our first visit of the day was to Ickle Bubba - a fairly new brand to the baby and toddler market. They were showing off the Stomp pushchair and the Orb highchair, and underlining why the Ickle Bubba brand is such a great addition to the market.
Offering families great design and affordable quality, they market their products as comparable with bigger and more expensive brands. Most importantly Fran and Veronica Vaughan, the founders of Ickle Bubba, are parents themselves, and say they’re committed to giving parents the very best without breaking the bank.
‘For us it’s all about value,’ says Fran, ‘because we understand that when kids come along mums and dads are under pressure to spend on a vast range of different things. We founded the business to deliver very high-quality products to parents who want to keep an eye on the budget.’
Next up was UPPAbaby. We took a closer look at their Cruz compact stroller, and spoke to Richard Bamforth to get the lowdown.
‘It’s really the ideal companion for urban streets and public transport,’ said Richard. ‘We’ve kept the basket and carrycot from the earlier Vista, along with the ease of use that made that model really popular.’
They must have done something right – the Cruz has won multiple awards, including a coveted Which? Best Buy.
After UPPAbaby we had a wander along to the Gumigem stand. As you might know if you’ve had tricky teething experiences, Gumigem offer a range of teething jewellery to help make teething that little bit more pleasant for both you and your little one. Jenny MacLaughlan of Gumigem told us that their most popular product is the Miller Heart pendant, especially in the Mercury colour option. ‘Our aim is to offer mums and dads a product that’s practical, fun and innovative,’ she said.
Speaking personally, I think she’s dead right – I’ve used a Gumigem necklace myself with my own son, and found it really useful for soothing his gums when we were out and about.
