Kids say the funniest things. Sometimes things that make you laugh out loud, sometimes things that make you cringe with embarrassment, and sometimes things that just leave you with a great big question mark.
My children are no exception to this. Recently while in the supermarket queue, my 5 year old son told me he remembered when our baby was in my tummy – “Just like that man over there mummy, the one with the big fat belly. When is he having his baby?”
Parents evening this year was a barrel of laughs. My sons teacher showed me a story he had written. I commented on the neat handwriting, the great spelling, the good punctuation – anything except acknowledge the picture of a wolf clearly labelled with ‘stinky breath that smells of poo’ and ‘big cheesy feet like daddy’.
With Mothers Day approaching, my 8 year old daughter has been making cards. This weekend she spent a long time making one – writing, drawing and cutting it into the shape she wanted. She presented it to me so proudly….
What could I say? I had to try so hard not to laugh. She has clearly considered all the options and decided to keep me. Ermmm…..thanks?
Do your children do things that make you laugh? I would love to hear your funniest stories.
