EATING OUT TRIED AND TESTED

Prezzo Christmas Menu Review, by Jo, Mumii Editor, and family

Where? Boston
When? November 2014

The experience : Prezzo in Boston, like many of the Prezzo restaurants it seems, is housed in what used to be a bank. Imagine high celilings and large windows and you're just about there. It is lit beautifully and is full of atmosphere. Even at 6.30pm, there was quite a buzz in there. We were greated by our waitress for the evening who was of smart appearance, well spoken and friendly. All the staff in fact had obviously been well trained and as a customer, you really did feel important. The children were very well catered for - colouring sheet and crayons - but more importantly, they were made to feel special. They were spoken to approprately, asked lots of questions and nothing was too much trouble. We were asked to review the Prezzo Christmas Menu and were more than willing to oblige.

The food : We have eaten in Prezzo on a number of occassions both locally and whilst travelling around the UK. This particular evening we were trying the Premium Christmas Menu which comes with the most delicious glass of Processco - crisp and dry, just how I like it.

For starter I had Crispy Pasta which was superb. It was served with a pomodoro sauce which went wonderfully. William had Spicy Prawns which again was excellent. There were plenty of prawns and we both loved this starter (I couldn't help myself but try a couple of course).

For main course, I picked the roasted duck leg which was served with rosemary potatoes, green beans, butternut squash and musrooms and finished with a red wine jus. It was a good choice and I thoroghly enjoyed it. William selected the King Prawn Risotto - can you tell he is a fan of prawns? This arrived and initially was a little disappointing as it resembled a thick soup rather than a risotto. However, the staff were wonderful and quickly replaced it offering a side salad whilst we waited. When the risotto returned, it got the thumbs up straight away. It was a well presented and well seasoned dish which contained a good balance of flavours.

Picking the desserts was rather tricky as there were so many that really took our fancy. In the end, I chose the Ameretto Brioche Bread and Butter Pudding which was divine. William went for the Chocolate Orange Truffle Slice - if you love chocolate then you will love this!

The children decided against the Prezzo Christmas Menu and that was fine - after all I knew that they wouldn't eat such large portions and the waste would have been criminal. Harry chose from the Tots Menus and Sam from the Kid's menu - both menus offer a lot of choice and portion sizes were just perfect. They were lucky enough to be able to pick a dessert from the adult menu and with two chocoholic boys this was a real treat - thanks to our lovely and generous waiter.

Prezzo Christmas Menu Review - the results : We have no hesitation in recommending the Prezzo Christmas Menu. In fact, we were so impressed, we have booked Prezzo for our Staff Christmas night out this year!

Yum those pictures are making me hungry! Hadn't thought of Prezzo's for our Christmas Meal but will definitely pick up a menu now.
