What is Bibee?
Bibee is a new concept to maternity fashion – one which really caught my eye. The idea behind it is that when you are pregnant, you don’t want to buy loads and loads of clothes BUT you want to create different looks for different occasions. The Bibee dress allows just this through the addition of Bibee fronts, allowing you to turn the same dress into something suitable for a night out, wearing for work or a casual Sunday afternoon. In addition to this, the maternity dress can also be turned into a nursing dress allowing for further longevity to the item. Clever stuff eh?
What did I think?
Maternity
In a nutshell, you purchase your base dress and then you can add various ‘fronts’ to the dress to create different looks. I was sent the navy dress which really suited me as am a fan of navy and so many maternity clothes seem to be in black. I was also sent the Nursing long sleeved top which, being winter, I have worn an awful lot even though I am not Nursing yet. It has transformed my summer dress into a winter dress and then I can just add the front depending upon my mood or what I am doing. The cowl front was perfect for New Year’s Eve when I knew that everyone was dressing up. I didn’t want to buy a new dress just for the occasion as I knew it wouldn’t get much wear in the coming months – the cowl front and some big jewellery provided me with the perfect outfit for the evening. I work full time at the moment and often have to meet clients so the Bibee Dress and the Navy and Wine V-Neck has been perfect for this. My train journey to London has been confortable and I have arrived surprisingly un-creased-looking yet smart enough for these meetings.
Breast Feeding
I can‘t wait to try the dress out when breast feeding although having fed too children in the past this way, I can already see the benefits. The Bibee dress offers enough coverage if you are a little shy – or in those winter months when it is far too chilly to show off more than the minimum amount of bare flesh. The material is stretchy, making it easy enough to free your breast and find a comfortable feeding position. Most importantly, it is easy to whip out your boob at feeding time – no annoying press studs or tiny buttons to fight with whilst trying to calm a screaming and hungry baby.
Conclusion
I really like my Bibee dress and the fronts I was sent. They offer a whole host of designs, colours and patterns and although some are not to my personal taste, you should be able to find something to suit most women. The over-riding positive about this dress though has to be the quality. It is beautifully made and the material is soft and comfortable. It may not be the cheapest option out there but you are paying for great quality. It has washed like a dream and I can see it becoming a firm favourite for the rest of my pregnancy and throughout my months as a Nursing Mother.
