Jumping in Muddy Puddles - Best Children's Splash Suits

We all know that children LOVE jumping in muddy puddles. Here at Mumii HQ we have been looking at some of the best waterproofs available on the market to keep your little and not-so-little ones warm and dry.

Here are some of our favourites that not only do the job well, but make your child look good too.

Regatta - Kids Mud Play All in One - RRP from £35

Available in sizes from 6 - 12 months right up to 104-110 cm (round about 4-5 years)

We have the blue, penguin suit here in our office and to say that it is cute is an understatement. The whole suit is lined making it ideal for the chilly Autumn and Winter months. We love the reflective piping, an added bonus now the nights are drawing in. This suit also has 'easy access' as it zips down one leg meaning that you don't have to 'fight' your little one to get them in - it's these small touches which make life easier for parents I am sure that you will agree.

We LOVE the cuteness of the designs of the Regatta all-in-one!

Muddy Puddles - Baby 3-in-1 Scamp Suit - RRP £59

Available in 0-6m to 2-3 years

Muddy Puddles recently sent us the Scamp Suit in the Teal Raindrop Design and I have to say that with its removeable fleece lining, this really is gorgeous! It also means that on less cold days, you can whip the fleece lining out and use it purely as a splashsuit - great for the warmer months. A couple of things really caught our eye about this suit - the adjustable hood (velcro) means that it will stay up on even the most petite of little ones; and the elastic hooks to pop under the soles of wellies means that the trousers won't ride up even with the most boisterous of children.

We LOVE the removeable fleece lining, making this suit practical 12 months of the year.

Raindrops - Red Waterproof Mette Set - RRP £39

Available 2-3y to 7-9y

Now for something for older toddlers and children. We have this set from Raindrops in the office and my 8 year old son already has his eyes on this! This isn't an all-in-one set and therefore suited to older toddlers and children. We love the material of this set - really flexible and hard-wearing plus comfortable to wear. The dungarees are perfect when a coat isn't necessary but your little one needs to be protected from the wet. The jacket has a fleece-lined collar for extra comfort and both the jacket and dungarees have reflective strips on them - small but important touches so often missed out by many manufacturers.

We love the design of this set and the quality of the finish.

Marks and Spencer - Dinosaur Striped Puddle Suit with Stormwear - RRP from £20

Available in 1-7yrs

How's this for something a little different? This puddlesuit really caught our eye and is available in a range of sizes right up to age 7. My 6 year old loves it! This suit really does what it says on the packet and is just prefect for jumping in muddy puddles. It is very well made as you would expect from M&S. The design is super trendy and the added detail of the dinosaur spikes on the hood and down the back make it pretty cool!

We love the Dinosaur spike detail on this puddlesuit.

Varberg - Lined Waterproof Onsie - RRP £49

Available 80-120cm

If you are after something which offers warmth as well as protection from the rain and snow, then this might just be the one for you. It really is super warm and super soft with a 200g polyester fleece lining. We have the red, white and blue option in the office but it comes in a variety of options to suit most tastes of most boys and girls. This product is 100% waterproof and has been proven to be so, thanks to a boisterous 8 year old who has really put it to the test. He also commented on how warm and snug it was after a couple of hours in the garden on a dreary and wet December afternoon.

We love the warmth this suit offers.

Hippychick - Shell All-in-One Waterproof Suit RRP £28.50

Available 12-18 months - 2-3y

Now we have it on good authority that Prince George himself is the proud owner of one of these splashuits from Hippychick so if it's good enough for Prince George then we had to consider it in our round up. It arrived on my desk and I have to say that I wasn't disappointed. It is exceptionally well made and has a number of elements which are not included in cheaper versions of this design you may have seen elsewhere. The zip has a material zipper pull tag allowing you to get hold of it even with gloves on. The hood has a cosy fleece lining around it's rim allowing softness on your little one's face, even in the coldest of winds. It also has adjustable cuffs around the wrists and ankles plus the hood is adjustable too. It's these little things that make this product better than many of it's similar counterparts.

We love just how adjustable this splashsuit it.

So - do your children like jumping in muddy puddles as much as mine do?
